Air New Zealand/TEAL Douglas DC-8-52, ZK-NZA, c/n 45750-217. Six-abreast, low wing, narrow body airliner, powered by Pratt & Whitney JT8D-7 engines. TEAL announced a change of airline name on 1 April 1965 to Air New Zealand. The first TEAL DC-8 was already painted minus titles in anticipation of this, and never actually flew in TEAL service. However, after the name change, TEAL titles appeared on the tail fin of the new aircraft for two years. Approx. 22.5cm x 21.5cm (8.75" x 8.5"). Does not include a display stand, but does have a hole for one.
