British Harrier GR7A ZD404 "Lucy". Kandahar, Afghanistan, November 2006. “Operation Herrick” was the name for the British participation in NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). Harriers saw service from 2004 until 2010, were the RAF and RN Fleet Air Arm combined to form Joint Force Harrier (JFH), flying in pairs to support of British and other NATO ground forces. Harrier GR7A ZD404 was named Lucy after Page 3 model Lucy Pinder. Diecast metal model with some plastic parts. Includes ordnance and display stand. This is a cool model. YF-23 “Gray Ghost” PAV-2. Northrop/McDonnell Douglas single seat, twin engine, stealth fighter prototype developed for the US Air Force Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) Program. Proposed as a successor to the F-15 Eagle, the YF-23 was praised for its speed, stealth, and supercruise capability. The program ultimately selected the YF-22, which became the F-22 Raptor. The YF-23 design emphasized extreme low observability and high-speed performance, incorporating a blended wing body, S-duct intakes, and V-tails. Although stealthier and faster, the YF-23 was deemed less agile than its competitor. “Gray Ghost” PAV-2 s/n 87-0801 is currently on display at California's Western Museum of Flight. McDonnell Douglas F/A-18F Super Hornet NG100, US Navy Fighter Squadron VFA-41 Black Aces, USS John C. Stennis. Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of VF-41 Black Aces, which was commissioned on June 1st, 1945 flying F4U Corsairs. The F/A-18F Super Hornet is a land and carrier-capable, supersonic, all-weather fighter, which can convert from fighter to strike mode with the flick of a switch. It has proven operationally that a single aircraft can operate as both a bomber and a fighter on the same mission. Diecast metal model, with some plastic parts. Movable elevators, deployable speed brake, detailed landing gear, and independently hinged stabilators and rudders. Stunning model. Does not come with a display stand.

Sukhoi Su-25 Grach Red 59, 378. OShAP, VVS, USSR 40th Army, Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan 1986. A ground attack aircraft specifically designed to provide Close Air Support (CAS) for Soviet troops. Known to NATO forces as "Frogfoot", the Su-25 is pretty-much an airborne tank! Fittingly, the model includes an array of armaments. Designed as an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft to replace the P-3 Orion, the P-8 Poseidon is based on the Boeing 737-800 civil airliner. Vought A-7E Corsair II carrier-capable subsonic light attack aircraft. US Navy Attack Squadron 86 (VA-86) Sidewinders, AJ400, USS America. Designed with sea-based strike capability in mind, the A-7E provided a platform for heavier payloads and greater range than its predecessors. The designation Corsair II being a tribute to the renown F4U Corsair fighter bomber of World War II and the Korean War. Diecast metal model with some plastic parts. Designed as a longer-range, higher-payload replacement for the A-4 Skyhawk, the A-7 entered service during the Vietnam war. Panavia Tornado GR.1 ZA591/FN strike/attack aircraft of RAF No.16 Squadron, Laarbruch, RAF Germany. In an all-over black scheme to mark the squadron's 75th Anniversary, as seen at Mildenhall Air Fete, Suffolk, May 1990. Arguably the most distinctive scheme it wore during its extensive Royal Air Force service. The squadron was originally formed in 1915 at Saint-Omer France, and were a referred to as 'The Saints'. The distinctive stick man with halo logo was applied to many of the squadron's post war jets. Part of Corgi's Commemorative Service Withdrawal Collection. Approx. 24cm x 18cm (9.5" x 7"). The Grumman F-14 Tomcat replaced the F-4 Phantom II as the US Navy's primary maritime air superiority fighter. Its variable geometry wing can sweep back for high speed supersonic flight and forward for improved positioning at lower speeds. The only foreign power to have operated F-14's is the Imperial Iranian Air Force (IIAF), now known as the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF), which still has F-14's in service as of 2024. The Gloster Javelin is a twin-engine T-tailed delta-wing subsonic aircraft that served with Britain's Royal Air Force from the mid-1950s until the late 1960s. The Javelin was the last aircraft design to bear the Gloster name, and was the RAF's first purpose-built all-weather interceptor. FAW 9R's (R standing for "Range") were fitted to carry under-wing fuel tanks. Javelin FAW9R XH892 served with 23 and 64 Squadrons and is now on permanent display at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum Flixton, Suffolk, England. Approx. 24.5cm x 22cm (9.5" x 8.5"). Blackburn Buccaneer S.Mk 2B, RAF No. 237 OCU. XW533 was delivered to the RAF in 1971 then, after a 20 year career, prepared for Operation "Granby" in the Persian Gulf. This included a Desert 'ARTF' (Alkali Removable Temporary Finish) livery change and assignment of code 'A'. The "Miss Jolly Roger" Nose Art was added during the campaign. This low-level subsonic attack aircraft built for carrier-based operations, was rushed into the Gulf War to improve precision bombing through its laser target marking capability.
