RAF 616 Squadron Gloster Meteor. Britain's first jet, and the first Allied jet to operate in WWII. The Meteor commenced operations in July 1944 and one of its key roles was to counter the pilotless V-1 Flying Bomb. The V-1's pulse jet engine produced a distinctive buzzing sound which led to its nicknames of Doodlebug and Buzz Bomb. At the peak of operations more than a hundred V-1's a day were dropping over London and SE England. This set includes 1 x Meteor F3 and 1 x v-1, each has its own display stand....

Blackburn Buccaneer S.Mk 2B, RAF No. 237 OCU. XW533 was delivered to the RAF in 1971 then, after a 20 year career, prepared for Operation "Granby" in the Persian Gulf. This included a Desert 'ARTF' (Alkali Removable Temporary Finish) livery change and assignment of code 'A'. The "Miss Jolly Roger" Nose Art was added during the campaign. This low-level subsonic attack aircraft built for carrier-based operations, was rushed into the Gulf War to improve precision bombing through its laser target marking capability. The Buccaneer featured bomb bay doors that rotated into the fuselage to expose its payload (traditional doors couldn't be used at high speed/low-altitude). It also featured a rear-mounted air brake with two large leaves that, when opened, quickly decelerated the aircraft. Gulf War 25th Anniversary diecast metal model. Limited to 1000 pieces world wide.
