  • 1/18 1974 Leyland P76 Targa Florio - Green
    Leyland P76, produced by Leyland Australian to compete directly with the Ford Falcon, Holden Kingswood, and Chrysler Valiant. Nicknamed "The Wedge", the P76 provided advanced features not offered by its rivals. Such as, rack and pinion steering, power disc brakes, MacPherson-strut front suspension, concealed windscreen wipers, and side intrusion bars. Its interior was spacious, and its boot huge enough to swallow a 44 gallon drum. Named Wheels Magazine’s coveted ‘Car of the Year’ in 1973. To celebrate winning the 1974 World Cup Rally Targa Florio section, Leyland Australia released the limited edition V8 Super Targa Florio model. With limited slip diff, sports wheels, and special paintwork. Sealed body resin model finished in Aspen Green metallic finish (no opening parts). Features clear windows and detailed interior.     British Railways pale cream and crimson ("blood and custard") five van set, made up of: 1 x 76AK016 Austin K8, 1 x 76ANG037 Ford Anglia Van, 1 x 76LAN2001 Land Rover Series II 109 Hard Top, 1 x 76CA018 Bedford CA Minibus, 1 x 76CM001 Commer Q25. Each model is finished with its own number plate and BR markings. The set comes mounted within a single acrylic case. Models range in length from just under 5cm (2") to just over 6cm (2.5").     MI6 Q Branch issue Aston Martin DB5. As used by Agent 007 to combat the very naughty Mister "Goldfinger". Finished in a slightly silvery olivey gloss grey (actual colour is best reflected in photos 4 to 7). Opening doors, detailed interior, working steering, wire wheels, and detailed chassis. The bonnet and boot are fixed (no engine detail), but, it has the very cool feature of a removable roof panel over the front passenger (ejector) seat. Like many cars of its time, the Galaxie's name was inspired by the excitement surrounding the Space Race, just like the Rocket, Meteor, Satellite, and Telstar.
