Heinkel He219 A0/R6, G9+FK, Uhu Ernst-Wilhelm Modrow. Top scoring He219 night fighter ace while posted with 2/Nachjagdgeschwader (2/NJG1) in the Netherlands, 1944. The Uhu ("Eagle-Owl") was a Luftwaffe night fighter that served in the later stages of WW II. Relatively sophisticated and innovative, it was the first operational military aircraft to have ejection seats and the first operational German WW II aircraft with tricycle landing gear.
