Grumman F6F Hellcat Fighter VF-24, USS Santee US Navy. American carrier-based single-seat fighter. Replaced the F4F Wildcat to meet the challenge of Japan's A6M Zero. Bigger and faster than the Wildcat, the Hellcat was one of America’s most successful WWII aircraft. It quickly became the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps primary fighter in the Pacific war. Diecast metal model. Fixed cockpit canopy, no pilot figure. Some assembly required (prop, antennas, and landing gear). Landing gear can be shown up or down, and a display stand is included.
