Grumman F6F-5, 1946 “Blue Angels” US Navy Hellcat. Produced from April 1944 to November 1945. This plane was so lethal that it earned the nickname “Ace Maker” because of the large number of pilots who earned their 5 + victories while flying it. Hellcats also saw combat in the Korean War as unmanned, carrier launched, radio-controlled drones (F6F-5K variant). Diecast metal model with some plastic parts. Rotating prop, removable pilot figure, canopy can be displayed open. Comes with decals for No.1 to No.4 planes. Landing gear can be shown up or down. Approx. 14cm x 18cm (5.5" x 7"). Comes with a display stand.
