Aichi D3A Type 99 Japanese carrier based twin seat dive bomber, IJN Akagi, Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. Allied reporting name "Val", the D3A was Japan's primary dive bomber and involved in almost all IJN actions. The first Japanese aircraft to bomb American targets in WWII, starting with Pearl Harbor and U.S. bases in the Philippines. Vals sank more Allied warships than any other Axis aircraft. Diecast metal model. Fixed cockpit canopy, no pilot figures. Some assembly required (prop, antennas, bombs, and landing gear). Landing gear can be shown up or down, and a display stand is included. This is a very heavy model, approx. 14cm x 19.5cm (5" x 7.75"). It comes from a budget range and is packaged in a blister pack.
