The Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) panel van, produced from 1950, was widely utilised by European fire departments as a versatile, durable, and compact emergency vehicle. Their maneuverability and cargo capacity made them well suited for use as command posts, firefighter and equipment transports, and specialised fire engines. Some remained in service for over 30 years. Commonly referred to as a "Splitty", due to its split windscreen, these vans proved valuable for rapid response within tight urban areas or mountain regions. Diecast metal with some plastic parts. Sealed front and side doors, detailed interior, and opening tailgate. Approx. 17cm x 7cm ( 7" x 2.75").
