Lockheed P-3M Orion. Serial 22-35 of 221 Sqn Spanish Air Force, based at Morón AB, Seville (2018). First flown in 1959, and based on the Electra turboprop airliner, the Orion is a four engined anti submarine maritime patrol aircraft. It's distinctive “stinger” tail boom houses a sensitive Magnetic Anomaly Detector. An internal bomb bay can house a variety of torpedoes and weapons, while underwing pylons can be used to carry anti-shipping missiles or bombs. The P-3’s original mission was to track Soviet submarines during the cold war. Only 168 Pieces worldwide. No display stand. Approx. 18cm x 15cm (7" x 6").
