AT-16 Harvard IIB U-331 was originally built by Canada’s Noorduyn for the Royal Air Force (ex-RAF serial FE449). It was operated by the Swiss Air Force from 1949 to 1968, used primarily as an advanced instrument-training aircraft. Harvard’s are fully aerobatic and allow trainee pilots to learn how to resolve situations correctly rather than suffer the consequences. Their distinctive sound is the result of their propeller tips going supersonic. Diecast metal model, with minimal plastic parts. Finished in the Swiss Air Force livery of the late 60’s. The large bird cage canopy can be removed to show the aircraft interior. Approx. 11.5cm x 17.5cm (4.5” x 7”). Includes a display stand which allows the landing gear to be shown up or down.
